Did you know how much caffeine’s in your coffee or Energy Drink ?

It may surprise you to hear that the typical large serve energy drink contains the caffeine of several coffees, and, a strong coffee contains the caffeine of several cups of Green Tea.  Weren’t you wondering why some people get through the day a bit jittery & on edge, whilst some people seem to float along calm and relaxed?

Today’s busy life:  on-the-go keeping up with work, often means being on the road or online almost 24/7, then family demands, friends and then trying to keep gym, fitness, nutrition and healthy foods at the top of the list aswell – forget it say many, and turn to soft drinks and energy drinks and the like.  But there is a simple, balanced way to go about things…

Amount of caffeine in coffee, energy drinks

If you’re wondering how much caffeine is in energy drinks  - common (major brand) large serve Energy drinks (500ml or more) typically contain 160mg or more of caffeine, and for the 250ml, the caffeine level in these is around 80mg, which equates to around one standard cup of coffee (60-80mg), such as a latte, a flat white or instant coffee.  Espresso caffeine levels can typically range from the same level, to 50% higher.¹

How much Caffeine in Coffee vs Green Tea

A standard cup of green tea contains approximately 30mg of caffeine, which equates to around half the caffeine in coffee (a standard one), and less than half the level of a typical 250ml energy drink¹.

Matcha Green tea benefits include naturally containing antioxidants EGCG, catechins, flavonoids, as well as the amino acid L-theanine, which is known to have calming, relaxing effects (without drowsiness) whilst also helping with cognitive function and alertness.
